ESET, the leader in proactive protection celebrating 25 years of its technology this year, has achieved another Advanced+ award for its flagship product ESET Smart Security 5 in AV-Comparatives’ testing. This time, the award was in heuristic detection and behavioral protection category, where ESET’s solution ranked among the top tested products. In addition, ESET’s flagship endpoint solution for business − ESET Endpoint Security − has secured the best overall rating in PassMark Software test. ESET Smart Security 5 earned the highest possible mark, "Advanced+" in AV-Comparatives’ testing, achieving 87 percent heuristic detection and heuristic/behavioral protection. What’s more, ESET had only “very few” false alarms, a result achieved by only one other vendor. “The AV-Comparatives’ test shows how good the proactive heuristic/generic detection capabilities of the scanners were in detecting new (sometimes called zero-hour) threats used in this test,” states the report.PassMark logo In a string of recognitions, ESET Smart Security 5 has earned certification in the AV-Test – the independent IT-Security Institute – in its May-June testing. It is a seal of approval proving that the product has achieved all of the levels of performance required and defined by AV-TEST in the categories of protection, repair and usability.
